The Southeast Missouri State softball team lost both games in a doubleheader against Indiana State on Wednesday.
The Redhawks were defeated 3-2 and 2-0 at Price Field in Terre Haute, Ind.
Indiana State (16-9) picked up two runs on three hits in the bottom of the first inning before the Redhawks tied it in the fourth inning of Game 1.
Southeast's Haylee Krack and Leah Duffe hit back-to-back home runs to right center to even the game at 2-2.
Indiana State scored the only other run it would need in the bottom of the inning.
Kelsey Montgomery connected for a two-out single to score Abbie Malchow for the final score.
Southeast had a chance in the sixth with the bases loaded, but a pop-up to second ended the threat and the inning.
Hannah Durham (2-3) recorded the loss. She pitched 3 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits. She had three strikeouts. Aubrey Denno pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief, giving up two hits and walking two.
Southeast collected just three hits in the second game.
Indiana State's Yvette Alvarez hit a solo home run in the second inning that was all the offense the Sycamores would need.
The Sycamores added another run in the fifth inning to secure the 2-0 win.
Keaira Schilling (1-4) was tagged with the loss. She gave up two runs in five innings. She walked one and struck out one while allowing five hits.
Denno pitched an inning in relief, giving up two hits.
Savannah Carpenter, Duffe and Meaghan Touchette recorded Southeast's three hits.
The Redhawks (5-11) face Evansville in a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. today in Evansville, Ind.
