The Southeast Missouri State softball team was swept by nationally-ranked Missouri in a doubleheader on Wednesday at University Field in Columbia, Missouri.

The Redhawks lost 2-1 in the opener in 10-1 in five innings in the nightcap.

Southeast took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of Game 1 on an RBI single by Lindsey Patterson and held that lead until the bottom of the seventh.

Missouri's Sami Fagan drew a walk, the eighth of the day issued by Southeast pitchers, to start the home half of the final inning. A two-out infield single put runners of first and third before a steal moved the trailing runner to second.

After facing an 0-2 count, senior Kelsea Roth gave the Tigers the walk-off win with a single to left field.

She was relieved by Aubrey Denno, who pitched 2/3 of an inning and walked two batters without allowing a hit.

Missouri scored four times in the first inning of Game 2. The Tigers added five more in the second and a final tally in the fourth in their run-rule victory.

Schilling started and lasted just one inning, allowing eight earned runs on seven hits and three walks. Denno pitched the final three innings. She gave up two runs on four hits and three walks.

Patterson was the only Redhawk to record multiple hits in either game. She finished Game 2 with two singles in two at-bats.
