Southeast Missouri State softball player Patterson earns OVC player of week

Southeast Missouri State junior outfielder Simone Patterson was named the Ohio Valley Conference softball player of the week Monday.

Patterson batted .714 (10 for 14) with two triples, six runs scored and four RBIs to help the Redhawks go 5-0 last week. She sported a 1.000 slugging percentage and .733 on-base percentage.

Patterson helped Southeast to a three-game OVC sweep at Austin Peay over the weekend. The Redhawks are riding a season-long five-game winning streak.
