Southeast Missouri State sophomore midfielder Paige Blankenheim was named the Ohio Valley Conference defensive player of the week on Tuesday.
Blankenheim scored her first career goal in the 32nd minute of the Redhawks' game against Northern Iowa on Sunday, which put Southeast up 1-0.
She played 104 minutes in the double-overtime contest that ended in a 3-3 tie.
UT Martin's Saphyra Coombs-James was named the offensive player of the week and Belmont's Stephanie Bukovec was named goalkeeper of the week.
The Southeast baseball team will hold an open tryout at 3 p.m. Sept. 8.
The tryout will be held at Capaha Field. Participants must be enrolled as a full-time student at the university. They also must have a physical from the last sixth months on record and a copy with them.
There is a "Tryout Clearance Form" that can be found on gosoutheast.com that also needs to be filled out.
