The Southeast Missouri State men's track & field team ran away with the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Redhawks, who led after the first day of competition on Friday, finished with 199.5 points. Eastern Illinois took second with 140.5 points.

The Southeast women's track and field team finished fourth with 79 points while EIU won the women's title with 163.

Southeast coach Eric Crumpecker was named OVC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year for the second time in his career. It's also his third overall coach of the year honor.

"It was a great weekend for the entire program," Crumpecker said in a press release. "We could not have asked for a better day than what we had on Friday and followed it up with a good final day. I am proud of the way everyone competed. It was a great day to be a Redhawk."

Senior thrower Kevin Farley claimed three first-place finishes. He won the hammer throw (196 feet, 10 inches), discus (174-10) and shot put (58-3 1/4).

Jason Walker won the javelin with a throw of 184-5 while Ross (182-11) and Andrew Ryan (178-11) came in second and fourth, respectively. Walker finished fourth (182-4) in the hammer throw and Stephen Zagurski was sixth (171-4).

Christopher Davis won the men's decathlon with 6,017 points while Duncan Ross finished fifth (5,636).

Ross took third in the pole vault with a height of 14-5 1/2. Sierra Maddox was fourth in the women's pole vault at 11-3 1/2.

Marc Maton won the men's 1,500-meter run with a time of 3 minutes, 49.16 seconds.

Chris Martin took first in the men's triple jump, leaping 51-7 3/4.

Zach Gordon and Jacob Kent finished third (24-1 1/2) and fourth (23-10 3/4), respectively, in the men's long jump.

Southeast had four of the top five finishers in the men's 400-meter dash. Jarred Pasley won it in 46.79 while Jordan Barber, Brannon Wright and Brandon Chunn took third through fifth, respectively.

Haile Wilson was second in the men's 100 in 10.71.

Wright and Gordon went third and fourth in the men's 200 with times of 21.61 and 22.05, respectively.

Southeast's team of Wilson, Wright, Gordon and Martin won the men's 400 relay in 40.54.

The Redhawks also won the men's 1,600 relay, as Wright, Chunn, Barber and Pasley ran it in 3:11.45.

Taylor Coffelt and Macy Ritter posted a 1-2 finish in the women's heptathlon with 4,877 and 4,774 points, respectively. Coffelt won the javelin with a throw of 133-9.

Cheyenne Tunti ran to a second-place finish in the women's 400 with a time of 54.80.

Megan Parks was third in the women's 800 (2:11.62).

Chante Mosby's leap of 5-8 3/4 was good for third in the women's high jump.

Sydney O'Brien came in fourth in the women's 10,000 in 37:11.57.

Miya Dorsey was sixth in the women's 400 hurdles (1:02.40), and Ajiroba was sixth in the women's 100 (12.23).

Angela Sumner finished seventh in the women's 5,000 (17:42).

Paden Wachter took seventh in the women's hammer throw and eighth in the shot put (41-1 1/2).

Ajiroba, Chelsea Miller, Kayla Heidelberg and Tunti finished sixth in the women's 400 in 47.69. Jovanie Spears, Dorsey, Parks and Tunti came in fourth in the women's 1,600 (3:48.67).

Any Southeast athletes that qualify for the NCAA West Preliminaries will compete at the regional event May 26-28 in Lawrence, Kansas. The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships are set for June 8-11 in Eugene, Oregon.
