The Southeast Missouri State gymnastics team swept the Midwest Independent Conference weekly awards announced Wednesday.
Junior Taryn Vanderpool was named MIC gymnast of the week for the second straight week, while senior Emma Garrett is the MIC specialist of the week.
Vanderpool won the all-around with a career-best score of 39.025 in Friday's dual meet against Illinois State. She also won the uneven bars with a season-high 9.850 while placing second on both vault (career-high 9.775) and beam (9.725). Those event wins give her nine first-place finishes this season.
Garrett posted a season-high 9.800 on floor to win the event against ISU, and her season-best 9.775 vault score tied Vanderpool for second place.
Vanderpool's award is her third weekly honor of the season. Garrett earned specialist of the week for the first time this season and the second time in her career.
Southeast is back in action Sunday at Illinois State.
