The Southeast Missouri State gymnastics team finished with its lowest team score of the season but defeated visiting Centenary 191.050-187.600 on Friday night at Houck Field House on Senior Night.

The Redhawks did record a season-high score of 49.000 on the uneven bars and sophomore Alexandria Stokes won the all-around with a 38.350 in just her second time competing as an all-arounder at Southeast.

"I feel really good about what our athletes did on bars and I'm really proud of our bars team," Southeast coach Kristi Ewasko said in a release. "We'll get back in practice and make some adjustments next week. Winning the all-around is huge for Alex, and I'm really proud of her stepping up and winning in just her second career all-around performance. I'm also really glad to send our fifth-year senior, Erin Brady, out a winner."

Southeast's bar performance tied for the seventh-highest score in program history. The last time the Redhawks posted a 49.000 in bars was in 2004. Centenary scored 47.050 in bars.

Junior Taylor Penzien won the event with a career-high 9.875 while freshman McKenna Stanley and Stokes finished 2-3 with career-highs at 9.850 and 9.825, respectively.

Redhawks sophomore Ashley Thomas won the floor competition with a 9.800. She also was second in the all-around with 38.250.

Southeast posted a 48.050 on floor while Centenary finished with 46.575. Sophomore Lauren Israel took third in the event with a career-high 9.775.

The Redhawks were led by Thomas in the vault, in which they scored 47.950. She came in second with a 9.700. Centenary's Noel Stubbs won the event with a 9.750 and the visitors finished with a 47.375.

Centenary topped Southeast on the balance beam with a 46.600 and had a third-place finisher in Kellie Slater with a 9.625.

The Redhawks scored 46.050 and Stokes won the event with a career-best 9.700 while Israel was second with a 9.675.

Southeast will face Illinois-Chicago on the road next Sunday in its regular-season finale.

Baseball

The Southeast baseball team will have to wait a little bit longer for its Ohio Valley Conference season to start.

The Redhawks' conference-opening series against Eastern Kentucky was delayed a day. The teams are now slated to play a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. Sunday on the turf field at SIU Edwardsville in Edwardsville, Illinois.

The series finale is set for 1 p.m. Monday at SIUE.

Tennis

The Southeast women's tennis team fell to 0-9 on the season as it sustained a 7-0 road loss against SIU Carbondale.

It was the fifth shutout loss for the Redhawks.

Southeast dropped all six singles matches, including tie-break losses by Mariya Kostyuk at No. 1 and Maria Montenegro at No. 5, and all three doubles matches.
