Southeast Missouri State junior free safety Tylor Brock has been named a first-team preseason All-American by Consensus Draft Services.
Brock led the Ohio Valey Conference with six interceptions last year. He tied Southeast's single-season record for interceptions while earning All-American and all-OVC honors.
Southeast received more preseason recognition when Lindy's Magazine projected junior offensive tackle Evan Conrad as a second-team All-American. The publication also picked the Redhawks to finish second in the OVC and tabbed senior quarterback Matt Scheible as the league's preseason offensive player of the year.
Southeast's Lauren McNamara has been named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America third team for women's track and cross country as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
McNamara, a native of Breese, Ill., completed her track eligibility this year by finishing seventh in the pole vault at the Ohio Valley Conference outdoor meet.
McNamara graduated in May with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average while double majoring in mass communications and Spanish.
A student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 on a scale of 4.0 and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings to be eligible for Academic All-America consideration.
