Southeast Missouri State cross country runner Lawson earns OVC weekly honor

Southeast Missouri State cross country runner Rebekah Lawson has been named the Ohio Valley Conference female co-runner of the week.

Lawson, a sophomore, was honored following her second-place finish at Friday's SIU Edwardsville Cross Country Challenge. Her time was 17 minutes, 58 seconds, which is the best in the OVC this season.

Lawson already has posted two second-place performances in two meets. Southeast has won the team title in both events.

Southeast squads compete Saturday at the Saluki Invitational in Carbondale, Ill.
