Southeast Missouri State seniors Jason Blum and Dalton Hewitt have been selected District Six Capital One Academic All-District Baseball first-team.
The award recognizes the top student-athletes in a nine-state region.
Blum and Hewitt are among six players from the Ohio Valley Conference to receive the recognition.
It is the third straight year Blum, from Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, has received the honor. He was named third-team Capital One Academic All-America in 2014. Blum also has been a three-time recipient of the OVC Medal of Honor for a 4.0 grade point average. He will graduate with an undergraduate degree in finance this month.
Hewitt , from Ballwin, Missouri, also was selected Academic All-District in 2013. He also will receive an undergraduate degree in finance this month.
To be eligible for the award, student athletes must be at least a sophomore with a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and be nominated by the school's sports information director.
