The Southeast Missouri State football team signed defensive lineman Josiah Smith, it was announced Friday by the Southeast athletics department.
Smith, a junior college transfer from Eastern Arizona College, recorded 35 tackles, 16 solo, and recovered two fumbles as a sophomore last year.
He started all four years at Hugh M. Cummings High School in Burlington, North Carolina, and recorded 39 tackles for loss and eight sacks during his senior season along with earning all-region and all-conference accolades and being named his team's most valuable player and best defensive lineman.
