COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Jon Riley and freshman Bryan Alfultis both won two events to help lead Southeast Missouri State University's men's track and field team to first place in the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships.

Southeast's women's finished second in the eight-team event hosted by Tennessee Tech Friday and Saturday.

The Indians won seven events and scored 190.5 points to hold off runnerup Middle Tennessee State (169) for their second straight OVC Outdoor title. Middle Tennessee's women had 180 points while the Otahkians scored 161.5.

Riley captured the long jump (24.9 1/2) and triple jump (50-1) while Alfultis claimed the shot put (53-5) and discus (162-6 1/4) while also finishing third in the javelin.

Other winners for the Indians were Randy Johnson in the javelin (205-0), Deryl Gardner in the 800-meters (1:53.54) and the 400 relay team (41.23).

Southeast's women had just one individual champion as Jennifer Phillips captured the javelin (115-3).
