SHREVEPORT, La. -- Southeast Missouri State University's gymnastics team opened its season with a win at Centenary on Sunday.

Southeast finished with 188.575 points to Centenary's 187.925.

The Otahkians outscored Centenary in two of the first four events, winning in vault by 0.425 points and in floor competition by 1.25 points.

Individually, Ashley Godwin finished second and teammate Katie Bloom third for Southeast in the vault. Godwin finished second on bars and third on beam.

Alexis Traylor won the floor event by 0.25 points over Godwin. In the all-around, Godwin and Amy Cole swept the top two positions with Tara Boldt fourth.
