Southeast Missouri State University's track teams got off to a solid start Friday during the OVC indoor championships in Charleston, Ill.

Heather Jenkins won the 20-pound weight throw for the second year in a row, this time with a distance of 61-1 1/2.

The women's distance medley relay team of Jen Burke, LaQuita Andrews, Taryn Phillips and Kaci Pilcher also was first.

Lindsey Meyr placed second in the long jump. Megan Youse was second in the weight throw.

On the men's side, Daniel Jones won the 35-pound weight throw, and freshman Andrew Lambert was second in the high jump and fourth in the long jump.
