Southeast Missouri State University's golf squad will begin its fall season Monday when the Indians host the 12-team Drury Invitational at the Bent Creek Golf Course in Jackson, Mo.
The tournament will feature 36 holes of play Monday, beginning at 7:30 a.m., followed by 18 holes Tuesday as the event concludes.
Joining Southeast in the field will be Ohio Valley Conference rivals Murray State, Eastern Illinois and Tennessee-Martin, along with Bradley, Chicago State, Creighton, Evansville, Saint Louis, Southern Illinois, Missouri-Kansas City and Wright State.
Southeast coach Carroll Williams expects a strong showing from Bryan Johnson, a junior from Thayer, Mo., who enters the season as the Indians' No. 1 golfer. Johnson was second in two major tournaments last year, the Southwest Missouri Invitational and the Saint Louis Billiken Classic.
"Bryan Johnson could very well be our No. 1 finisher. He has all the tools and knows the course very well," said Williams. "I also expect to see John Litzelfelner to step up. Woody Hill has also shown great improvement."
Litzelfelner is a senior from Jackson, Mo., while Hill is a sophomore from Rolla, Mo.
