PADUCAH, Ky. -- Southeast Missouri State University's golf team knocked 12 strokes off its opening day round by shooting a 304 Tuesday, but after two days of the three-day Ohio Valley Conference tournament the Indians were seventh out of nine teams.

Southeast has a two-day score of 620, 42 strokes behind Austin Peay. Matt Hillis is Southeast's top individual at 16th overall (152) after two days. Hillis shot a 3-over 75 Tuesday.

Southeast's best round belonged to Jimmy Blose, who recovered from a first-day 85 to shoot a 2-under 70. Blose's 70 was tied for the second best round of the day. Woody Hill shot a 77 for the second consecutive day and is tied for 18th overall.

Otahks softball team drops final home game to SLU

Southeast's seniors played their final game at home Tuesday and fell to visiting St. Louis University 4-2.

Otahkians starter Jessica Hunter allowed seven hits in three innings and was marked with the loss. Southeast was hurt by two errors that led to two unearned runs. Rachel Van Fleet was strong in relief, pitching 3 1/3 scoreless innings.

Southeast managed only six hits off St. Louis (21-15) starter Nicole Bohnenstiehl. Bohnenstiehl pitched all seven innings, striking out 11 and walking one. Bohnenstiehl has 18 of the Billikens' 21 wins. Kelly Birk led the Otahkians with a 2-for-3 day at the plate. Birk and senior Brooke Nett had Southeast's RBIs.

The second game of the doubleheader was canceled due to rain.

Southeast (14-25) plays its final series Saturday and Sunday at Eastern Kentucky.
