The Southeast Missouri State football team already has lined up its "money" game for the 2014 season.

It was announced Friday that the Redhawks will play at Big 12 Conference member Kansas on Sept. 6, 2014, at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence.

The meeting will be the first between the programs and will mark Southeast's second-ever matchup against a Big 12 opponent. Southeast lost at then-No. 6 Missouri 52-3 in 2008. The Tigers have since joined the SEC.

The Redhawks annually play a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent to generate revenue for the university's athletic department.

Southeast will receive $375,000 from Kansas, the same amount it will get for next season's game at Mississippi of the SEC. That's the most money the university ever has received for one game.

The Redhawks are 1-17 against FBS opponents, with the lone win being over Middle Tennessee State in 2002.

Southeast opened its 2012 season with a 38-27 loss at FBS Central Michigan Thursday.
