HANNO, Japan -- Annika Sorenstam set an LPGA Tour money-winning record Sunday, making birdies on the final two holes to wrap up her eighth victory of the year at the Mizuno Classic.

The first-prize money also clinched Sorenstam's fourth money title and virtually assured that she will end the season as the first player to win more than $2 million on the LPGA Tour.

On a blustery day, Sorenstam finished with a 2-under-par 70 and a 54-hole total of 13-under 203 for a three-stroke advantage over England's Laura Davies.

"It was tough out there today," Sorenstam said. "The wind was swirling around all day, and I just tried to be patient and it paid off."

Sorenstam, who defeated South Korea's Se Ri Pak last week in the World Ladies Match Play Championship to wrap up player-of-the-year honors, pocketed the $162,000 winner's check to secure the money title as well.

"It's been a great year for me. This was a very important tournament for me to reach many of my goals and to secure the money title feels great," the Swedish star said.

It was the first time since 1998 that Sorenstam has topped the money list. The first-prize check boosted her season total on the tour to $1.99 million and broke the old mark of $1.88 million set last year by Karrie Webb.

Southern Farm Classic

MADISON, Miss. -- Cameron Beckman made up a three-stroke deficit over the final five holes to win the Southern Farm Bureau Classic, his first PGA Tour victory.

Beckman, who earned $432,000, birdied three of the final five holes in a 67 that gave him a 19-under 269 total, one stroke ahead of Chad Campbell.

Campbell shot a 71 after starting the final round at the Annandale Golf Club with a two-shot lead.

Fred Funk had a 68 and finished 271.
