Sorenstam misses cut for first time in 4 years

Annika Sorenstam failed to the make the cut in a golf tournament for the first time since 2002 Friday, shooting a 2-over-par 73 in the second round of the Michelob Ultra Open in Williamsburg, Va., on a course that has always frustrated her.

The women's top-ranked player had made 68 consecutive cuts before struggling for a second straight day.

Webb, the first-round leader, is at 8-under 134 after a 68 and leads Christie Kerr by one shot and Pat Hurst by two. Kerr shot a 66, and Hurst had her second consecutive 68.

Sorenstam had made 74 consecutive cuts before missing at the British Open in 2002.

PGA Tour

Instead of becoming only the fourth player to shoot a 59 in a PGA Tour event, Aaron Oberholser missed a 15-foot birdie putt on his final hole and had to settle for a 10-under 60 and the Byron Nelson Championship tournament record in Irving, Texas.

After a first-round 74, Oberholser moved within four strokes of co-leaders Adam Scott and Brett Wetterich, both at 10-under 130 through two rounds.

Champions Tour

Bobby Wadkins set a course record on the newest Champions Tour venue, shooting a 9-under 62 to grab the first-round lead in the Boeing Championship at Destin, Fla.
