The Southeast Missouri State softball team will play rare home games today when Eastern Illinois visits for a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
Southeast has had only two of its 27 contests in Cape Girardeau, and those two were played March 2.
The Redhawks (11-16, 1-5 Ohio Valley Conference) have had 13 true road games and 12 neutral-site contests.
Southeast is last in the 10-team OVC, but the Redhawks had a strong showing over the weekend at defending OVC champion and preseason favorite Tennessee Tech.
The Redhawks split Friday's doubleheader with the Eaglettes, but lost Saturday's finale of the three-game series 3-2 in 12 innings.
Senior Megan McDonald from Central High School leads Southeast with a .398 batting average, while senior Michelle Summers is hitting .379 with team highs of seven home runs and 21 runs batted in.
Eastern Illinois (8-11, 4-1) is tied for second in the OVC.
Following today's doubleheader, the Redhawks head back out on the road this weekend for a three-game OVC series at Austin Peay.
