Miles Smith proved he hasn't lost a step at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York on Saturday.

The Southeast Missouri State senior ran the second-fastest time in the United States this year to win the 400 meters, covering the distance in 46.61 seconds.

Smith wasn't done with his individual championship. He then ran the anchor leg of the 4x400 relay, and helped the team take first place, finishing in 3:10.99.

"We were real excited to win at a meet of this caliber," Southeast coach Joey Haines said.
