The surging Notre Dame High boys basketball team continued its late-season charge Sunday afternoon.

Notre Dame, hosting the final day of the Catholic Classic, rolled past St. Vincent 69-39. That came one day after the Bulldogs had mauled Sedalia Sacred Heart 79-50.

Also Sunday, Valle beat Sacred Heart.

The Bulldogs improved to 11-12 as they won for the seventh time in their last eight games.

"We've really been playing well the last few weeks," said Notre Dame coach Chris Janet. "We've built up a lot of momentum and hopefully we can keep it up going into districts."

Zach Miller scored 16 points Sunday to pace the Bulldogs while Jason Rubel added 11. Eleven Notre Dame players reached the scoring column.

Notre Dame jumped out to a 15-6 lead after one quarter and went ahead 34-16 at halftime. A 24-10 third-period edge broke the game totally open.

"We really had a good game," Janet said. "We played well defensively and offensively we did some nice things."

St. Vincent, which fell to 14-9, had no double-figure scorers. Todd Meyer led the way with eight points.

"We had 31 turnovers. We just didn't come to play," said St. Vincent coach Bruce Valleroy. "But a lot of it had to do with Notre Dame."

Notre Dame will close out the regular season Tuesday night when Malden visits for the Bulldogs' final home game.

"It's going to be senior night and we're looking forward to it," said Janet. "Hopefully we can get one more and really have a good feeling going into districts."

St. Vincent visits Valle Friday night in its regular-season finale.
