Six local athletes have recently been named to the academic all-state team by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.
Jackson's Chrissi Glastetter, Perryville's Amy Verseman and Sara Westrich, Jason Rubel and Michael Wehner from Notre Dame were among 79 athletes selected as being players who excel academically and who perform with distinction on the basketball court.
Glastetter is currently No. 1 in her class with a 12.146 grade point average on an 11-point scale. She scored a 30 on her ACT.
Rubel and Wengert each scored a 29 on their ACTs. Rubel, ranked No. 5 in his class, carries a 3.8 GPA on a 4-point scale, while Wengert is ranked 10th in his class with a 3.5 GPA.
Westrich boasts a 3.9 GPA and scored a 31 on the ACT. She currently ranks No. 3 in her class.
Verseman ranks 16th in a class of 214.
Scott City's Megan Noon was also named to the team.
