Former Sikeston standout and Western Kentucky University freshman Karris Allen had the best game of her young collegiate career in Lady Topper’s 73-67 win at the University of Texas at San Antonio on Thursday, Feb 2.

Allen made 3-of-4 shots from behind the 3-point arc and finished with 10 points. it was the first time she’s reached double-digit scoring while playing for WKU. The 5-foot-11-inch guard also had five rebounds while playing just 17 minutes.

Allen was named the SEMO Conference Player of the Year after leading the conference in scoring her junior season at Sikeston, and also earned the Standard-Democrats’ Basketball Player of the Year Award. Allen led the Lady Bulldogs to a 17-7 overall record during her senior year, while also earning All-State honors from the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.

Western Kentucky (13-9, 10-3 Conference USA) has won four straight and will travel to No. 21 Middle Tennessee (18-4, 11-2) for a battle with the first place in the conference on the line.
