SIKESTON -- Jackson High's undefeated SEMO Conference boys basketball record went down in flames Tuesday night.

Host Sikeston jumped all over the Indians at the outset, building a 35-13 halftime lead on its way to a 65-48 romp.

The Indians fell to 11-6 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Sikeston evened its overall record at 8-8 and its league mark at 1-1.

"I think you could realistically say they dominated us in all phases of the game," said Jackson coach Steve Burk. "We missed a lot of shots, we turned the ball over and we didn't defend very well."

Bryan Ellitt poured in 27 points to pace the Bulldogs, who also got 16 from Brandon Barnes.

Jackson was paced by Tory Meyr with 11 points and Justin Suedmeyer with 10.

Kelly 66, Bernie 65

BERNIE -- Jason Glastetter's layup off a pass from Jim Hulshof with four seconds left lifted Kelly to a huge road win.

Bernie's Dusty Stone had hit a 3-pointer to put the Mules up by one, but Hulshof broke the press and found Glastetter underneath for the winning basket.

"It's a really big win for us," said Kelly coach Kent Mangels. "We were down at one point by 11 in the third quarter."

Glastetter poured in 25 points to pace the Hawks (9-6). Russ Mothershead scored 16 and Hulshof added 13.

Bell City 53, Chaffee 52

BELL CITY -- Bell City, clinging to a one-point lead, survived a missed 15-foot shot by Chaffee in the closing seconds to record an exciting victory at home.

Glenn Adams scored 19 points to pace just four Cubs in the scoring ledger. Jarrod Eftink netted 15 points and Nathan Walter added 12 for Bell City (4-10).

Chaffee led 31-27 at halftime and took a slim 42-40 lead into the fourth quarter.

Andy Proffer paced Chaffee with 15 points and Matt Stroup netted 14.

Scott Central 84, East Prairie 49

MORLEY -- Scott County Central outscored East Prairie 36-10 in the second quarter as the Braves romped at home.

The Braves (12-4) were led by John Fort with 24 points -- all of which came in the first half. Jreece Johnson scored 21 and Todd Blissett added 20.

"We came out and played really hard second quarter," said Scott Central coach Todd Porter. "We really got after it."

Delta 76, Marquand 73

MARQUAND -- Delta got 28 points from Josh Altenthal to offset a 31-point explosion by Marquand's Steve Braswell as the Bobcats prevailed on the road.

Also in double figures for Delta were Ryan Livingston with 16 points, Lucas Green with 12 and James Gaddis with 10.

Marquand (7-7) got 20 points from Dusty Stephens and 11 from Eric Hovis.

Woodland 76, Meadow Heights 33

MARBLE HILL -- Woodland built up a 47-13 halftime lead and kept visiting Meadow Heights winless on the season.

The Cardinals (12-5) were led by Matt Cutsinger with 15 points. Ryan Bandermann followed with 14, David Massa had 12 and Paul Long added 10.

Troy Hays scored 12 points for the Panthers.

Oran 78, Oak Ridge 33

ORAN -- Thirteen players scored for Oran as the Eagles romped at home.

The Eagles (11-5) placed three players in double figures, led by Billy Loper with 13 points. Eric Spies had 12 and Phillip Seyer 10.

Oak Ridge, which trailed 39-12 at halftime, got 15 points from Eric Hobeck.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Kelly 51, Sikeston 47 (OT)

BENTON -- Despite having only five available players, Kelly was able to outlast visiting Sikeston in overtime.

The Lady Hawks (12-5) rallied from an 18-7 first-quarter deficit. They also trailed 27-23 at halftime.

Bridgette Riley paced Kelly with 17 points, Marissa Essner had 14 and Nicole Kern added 11.

Monday night, Kelly routed Woodland 69-31. Essner and Riley both scored 18 points, Kern had 14 and Jenny Riley added 13.

Perryville 73, Grandview 14

HILLSBORO -- Perryville encountered little resistance on the road in evening its record at 8-8 and improving to 4-0 in the Jefferson County Conference.

Amy Verseman netted 18 points to lead the way and Tiffany Perkins and Amanda Schumer tallied 14 apiece.

Perryville led 17-8 after one quarter and 43-11 at halftime.
