SIKESTON, MO. — The Sikeston boys’ tennis team picked up a 6-3 win over SEMO Conference foe Jackson at Sikeston High School on Wednesday, March 29.
The Bulldogs (1-0) won four of the six singles matches and two out of the three doubles matches against the Indians (2-1).
“I’m very proud of the team today,” said Sikeston coach Spencer Ayers. “We still have some work to do as we shake off the rust but getting our first win in three years is a great way to start the season. Tyler McHaffie had a big night with a doubles win and then a payback win in singles. [McHaffie] lost a close match on Saturday but locked in today and got a huge win.”
Both teams will compete in the SEMO Conference Tournament at Notre Dame High School on Saturday, March 31.
