NEW MADRID, Mo. -- The Sikeston High School football team pulled off a major area upset Friday night as the visiting Bulldogs stunned previously undefeated and state-ranked New Madrid County Central 25-14.

Sikeston improved to 4-2 while NMCC fell to 5-1. The Eagles are ranked fourth in Class 3A.

The Bulldogs trailed 14-8 at halftime, but they took the lead for good in the third quarter on Josh Monroe's 28-yard touchdown run and Andrew Lambert's extra point.

On the first play of the fourth quarter, Monroe scored on a 50-yard pass from Drew Lawrence as the Bulldogs went up 22-14.

CHARLESTON 13, DEXTER 6

CHARLESTON -- Charleston scored on two long runs and held off Dexter.

The Bluejays (4-2) got a 99-yard touchdown run from quarterback Dontay Clark in the first half to open the scoring and a 60-yard TD jaunt by Orrice Stanback in the fourth quarter that opened up some breathing room.

Stanback rushed for 107 yards on 12 carries while Clark had 98 yards on 12 attempts. Jordy Mixon was limited to 22 yards on nine carries.

Matt Burnett gained 183 yards on 38 carries for Dexter (3-3). He scored the Bearcats' lone touchdown on a short run.

HILLSBORO 40, PERRYVILLE 0

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Perryville was held to less than 100 yards of total offense as the Pirates suffered a blowout loss to fall to 1-5.

Hillsboro (3-3) led 26-0 at halftime.

Jacob Bockman had 11 tackles to lead the Pirates defensively.

FREDERICKTOWN 21

FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- Ste. Genevieve jumped out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back.

Kyle Stevens rushed for two touchdowns for Fredericktown (2-4) and finished with 142 yards on 19 carries.

PATTON, Mo. -- Meadow Heights posted its 20th victory of the season by allowing Zalma to score just one point.

The Lady Panthers (20-3) were led by Hanna James with nine kills and six digs. Jami Fulton recorded 25 assists and six digs. Ashley Brune added six kills and three digs while Holly Boyd contributed six kills.

OAK RIDGE 9-4

OAK RIDGE, Mo. -- Oran swept its way to victory over the host Lady Blue Jays.

The Lady Eagles (11-8-1) got six kills and two blocks from Maria Eftink. Candice Duncan dished out 10 assists and Ashley Dirnberger had 10 service points.

Laura Glueck had five kills and three aces for Oak Ridge (3-12).
