BARLOW, Kentucky — Sikeston's second-half surge wasn't enough to overcome a slow start, falling 59-51 at Ballard County on Monday, Dec. 4.
While the second-half surge offered a glimpse of what could be for the Lady Bulldogs (2-5), the first-half struggles proved too much to overcome, highlighting the need for consistency and a strong start to complement their second-half capabilities.
“We had a slow start and decided to wake up in the second half but came up short,” said Sikeston coach Vaughn Shephard.
Landri Hammontree and Kennedi Sims have emerged as consistent offensive threats, scoring 16 and 12, respectively.
Sikeston hosts Miller Career Academy (1-2) on Monday, Dec. 11.
