SIKESTON, Mo. -- Sikeston High's baseball team had five players with two hits or more as the Bulldogs advanced to the Class 3A Final Four with a 7-5, back-and-forth win over visiting Sullivan Saturday.

Bobby Landers did the most damage, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two runs batted in.

Jamie Puckett, Ben Nelson, Heath Self and Chris Cota had two hits apiece.

Cota was the winning pitcher. He went six-plus innings and allowed five runs, four earned, on nine hits and a walk. He struck out four and hit a batter.

Sikeston improved to 21-5 while Sullivan fell to 11-11-1.

The Bulldogs were up 7-4 in the seventh inning, but two Sikeston errors kept the game alive. Landers was able to come on and close the game, striking out one and allowing no hits.
