Sikeston scored on all six of its first-half possessions as it kept the Central football team winless with a 47-18 victory Friday night at Sikeston High School.
Junior running back Eli Jackson scored three of the touchdowns, including a 26-yard run 15 seconds into the game after the Tigers (0-5, 0-2 SEMO Conference) fumbled on their first play from scrimmage.
Jackson finished with 174 yards on 14 carries, all in the first half.
Sikeston senior quarterback Charlie Bohannon also ran for two touchdowns and threw a 58-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Williams.
Central's offense responded to its opening miscue by striking for its lone touchdown of the first half on a 67-yard pass from quarterback Andrew Williams to Brandon Pickens to cut the score to 7-6.
But a Central defense that came into the contest allowing an average of 46 points had no answer for Jackson and the Bulldogs. The Tigers have not held any of their five opponents to fewer than 42 points.
Sikeston (3-2, 1-1) led 20-6 at the end of the first quarter and tacked on three second-quarter touchdowns.
The Bulldogs enacted a running clock by striking first in the second half.
Cantrell Andrews, who had two second-half touchdowns, led Central with 173 yards rushing on 33 carries. Andrews, who had 131 of his yards in the second half, was assisted off the field by trainers after being injured on an unsuccessful conversion run in the final minute of the game.
Williams, the sophomore quarterback, finished 3-for-8 for 83 yards with two interceptions.
