Sikeston Junior High track teams sprint to success this season

The Sikeston Junior High boys and girls track and field teams had numerous outstanding performances throughout the year. The boys’ team was undefeated in invitationals, capturing first place at the Dexter, Kelly, Chaffee and Sikeston Invitational meets. The girls’ team finished in second at Dexter, third at Kelly, second at Chaffee and took first place at the Sikeston Invitational. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams finished in third place at the season-ending SEMO Conference meet at Cape Central Junior High. The team was bolstered by one of the largest rosters of athletes the junior high program has seen in recent years with 75 participants.
