POPLAR BLUFF -- Sikeston edged Jonesboro (Ark.) and host Poplar Bluff for the title in the Poplar Bluff Invitational, a 16-team high school golf tournament played over 18 holes at Westwood Hills Country Club Monday.
Sikeston had a score of 308, just ahead of Jonesboro's 309 and Poplar Bluff's 311.
Jackson was fourth at 327, Notre Dame and Dexter tied for fifth at 330 and Cape Central and Kennett tied for seventh at 332.
Kennett's Bryan Shumate earned individual medalist honors with an even-par 71. Jackson's Peyton Sims placed second with a 2-over 73.
Other scores for Jackson were Matt Litzelfelner 83, Nathan Brown 85 and Chris Pike 86.
"We didn't play as well as we normally do as a team, but Peyton really had a good round," said Jackson coach Ron Cook.
Notre Dame's Nick Martin was one of the top 15 medalists as he tied for 11th with a 78. Other scores for the Bulldogs were Tim Buerck 80, Derek Welter 85 and Ryan Hannan 87.
Cape Central was paced by Luke Oliver, whose 79 was good for 16th place. Other scores for the Tigers were Nick Harter 80, Dusty York 82, Josh Miller 91 and Drew Christian 91.
GIRLS SOCCER
Poplar Bluff 1, Notre Dame 0
Poplar Bluff scored the game's only goal early in the second half as the Lady Mules dropped Notre Dame's record to 4-7.
Notre Dame's JV posted a 1-0 victory as Ashley Freeman scored, with an assist from Meredith LeGrand.
SOFTBALL
Chaffee 13, Scott City 3
CHAFFEE -- Despite having just six hits, Chaffee was able to remain undefeated with a five-inning romp.
Jodi Pfefferkorn paced the Lady Red Devils (6-0) offensively by going 3-for-3, with two RBIs.
Amy Burnett pitched all five innings for the win. She allowed four hits and no earned runs while fanning four.
East Prairie 13, Delta 11
DELTA -- East Prairie rallied in the seventh inning to knock off Delta.
The Lady Bobcats (5-3) had 14 hits, led by Amy Wycoff with three. Erin Cook homered and doubled while Rebecca Below, Laura Reiminger and Rebecca Cook all added two hits.
R. Cook was the losing hurler as she allowed eight hits and fanned eight in going the distance.
Oak Ridge 21, Scott Central 6
OAK RIDGE -- Oak Ridge needed just three innings to post its first win of the season.
Candice Schaper had two hits, including a homer, while Lexie Meyers also homered and Allison Miles added two hits.
Laura Glueck was the winning pitcher.
BASEBALL
Oak Ridge 10, Scott Central 0
OAK RIDGE -- Zach Ruesler pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts as the Blue Jays posted a six-inning victory.
The Blue Jays (4-3) had eight hits, getting two apiece from Clayton Ruesler, Jeff Cowen and Beau Morrison. C. Ruesler scored three runs and stole four bases.
East Prairie 10, Delta 0
DELTA -- Luke Blattel singled with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning as Delta avoided a no-hitter in a five-inning contest.
Terry Green suffered the loss for Delta (1-8).
East Prairie enjoyed three-run innings in the second, fourth and fifth innings as it cruised to the win.
TRACK & FIELD
Charleston Invitational
CHARLESTON -- Kelly's boys and girls both placed second out of four teams, with several individuals turning in impressive performances.
Kennett's boys prevailed with 119 points, followed by Kelly (78), Charleston (45) and Caruthersville (5).
Kennett's girls also won with 108 points, followed by Kelly (66), Charleston (58) and Caruthersville (13).
Kelly's Adam Daughhetee was a standout as he recorded a grueling triple by winning the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 runs. He also ran a leg on Kelly's victorious 3,200 relay team that included Lance Scheffer, Ashley Hahn and Adam Lofton.
On the girls side, Kelly's Megan Nelson won both the 100 and 300 hurdles, Tabitha Shankle won the 800, Jenny Riley captured the 3,200 and the Lady Hawks' 1,600 relay team of Alaina Burford, Dana Essner, Nelson and Shankle prevailed.

SWIMMING
Cape Central 2nd in triangular
ST. LOUIS -- Francis Howell nipped Cape Central by a single point in a triangular meet.
Francis Howell finished with 128 points to edge Cape Central, 127, and McCluer North, 74.
The Lady Tigers (5-3) won four events: Jean Maguire in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke, Kelley Green in the 500 freestyle and Jennifer Taylor in the 100 breaststroke.
