Southeast Missouri State cross country teams brought home two top-six finishes from Saturday's Evansville Invitational.

The Southeast men were fifth in the 8K race and the women placed sixth in the 5K race.

Nate Shipley led the men with a seventh-place performance in a time of 25 minutes, 38.22 seconds.

Brent Collins (26:22.50) and Colton Strotheide (26:31.31) were 21st and 24th, respectively. Craig Munie (27:04.14) was 38th and Tyler Mullen (27:04.66) was 39th to round out Southeast's scorers.

Freshman Rebekah Lawson had a 10th-place finish in 18:40.39 to pace the women.

Gloria Westlake (19:17.17) was 24th, while Jenny Govero (19:24.87) was 27th. Melanie Lacey (43rd, 19:56.20) and Tiffany Mead (52nd, 20:17.82) rounded out the Redhawks' scorers.

Southeast returns to action Oct. 29 at the OVC championships in Richmond, Ky.
