Semoball Awards speaker announcement to stream live Monday

The speaker for the inaugural Semoball Awards will be announced at that 10 a.m. news conference Monday at HealthPoint Fitness in Cape Girardeau.

The Semoball Awards, which will recognize about 200 elite high school athletes from the region, will be held June 21 at the Show Me Center.

Athletes from 19 sports will be honored as Semoball Awards finalists. An athlete of the year from each sport will be announced at the banquet as well as male and female athlete of the year award winners and other top awards.

The nationally-recognized speaker will cap off the banquet by delivering a message to the audience.

Monday's announcement will be webcast live at semoball.com and VIP tickets to the event, which will include an opportunity to meet the speaker, will go on sale at 10:20 a.m. at semoball.com/awards.

The finalists for each sport or the date the finalists will be announced can also be found on the event website as well as additional information about the banquet, an athlete nomination form and voting for the best fans in the Southeast Missouri.

The Semoball Awards are presented by SoutheastHEALTH and sponsored by First Midwest Bank, Harry Blackwell auto dealerships and Technomad.
