The Southeast Missouri State baseball team finally pulled back ahead of .500 with a weekend sweep at home against Little Rock.

Now 16-14, the Redhawks went 9-2 since Mar. 15, losing just two games – one at Arkansas and the other at Southern Illiniois-Edwardsville.

The Redhawks won two games on Saturday, Apr. 1 by 4-3 and 6-5 scores, while taking the final game of the series on Sunday by a 17-6 margin in eight innings.

In the Redhawks offense’s explosion on Sunday, junior second baseman Chance Resetich finished with a game-high four hits – one for a triple – while driving in two runs. Jevon Mason and Lincoln Andrews both finished with three hits each, while center fielder Brett Graber hit a three-run home run to left field for the Redhawks’ sole round-tripper in the win.

Junior Haden Dow earned the win for the Redhawks, pitching 5.0 innings while allowing three hits, a walk and two earned runs, striking out six.

Southeast Missouri State next plays on Tuesday at now-Missouri Valley Conference rival Murray State, with the Racers’ season record standing at 13-13.

__Softball__

Right fielder Zoe Schulte finished with a game-high three hits, driving in two runs while scoring once on Sunday. Sydney Dennis added another two hits, while center fielder Paige Halliwill’s three-run home run in the fifth inning sealed the win for the Redhawks.

Delaney Kell’s 5.0 innings pitched, three hits allowed and one walk earned her the win, finishing the game on the mound without allowing a run for Southeast Missouri State.

Kell was the third Redhawk to earn a pitching win over the weekend, with Marisa Davis earning the first in the Saturday doubleheader while Paytience Holman earned the second.

The Redhawks skip the midweek game and head directly into a weekend matchup with Morehead State (10-13) at home, beginning at 12 p.m. on Friday.

__Track & Field__

Both the SEMO men's and women's team hosted and dominated the Joey Haynes Invitational on Saturday with 13 first place finishes and 28 top three finishes.

The women placed first with 192.5 total points, 70.5 points ahead of Murray State in second. Katie Wegmann won the 1500-meter (4:28.57), Madelyn Gray won the 800-meter (2:12.59) Hannah Eastman won the 5000-meter (17:13.87), and Jaden Kight finished in first place in the javelin with a throw of 41.26m.

Clara Billing and Laila Hardin won multiple events for the Redhawks. Billing took home the gold in the 100-meter hurdles (14.68) and pole vault (3.80m). Hardin finished in first place in the women's 400-meter (58.35) and 400-meter hurdles (1:03.27).

The men's team tallied 183 total points to place first, finishing ahead of Southern Illinois with 100 points.

Justin Splitt the 1500m (4:03.52), Terrico Garrett won the 800m (1:52.89), Nick Cimmarusti won the 5000m (14:43.11) and Aarion Jackson won the triple jump with a jump of 13.26m.

Chris Johnson, Mark Crawford, Brenden Parham, and Garrett placed first as a team in the men's 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:19.15.
