The Southeast Missouri State soccer team was shut out for the third consecutive game with a 2-0 road loss to Florida Atlantic University on Friday night.
FAU's Claire Emslie scored the only goal FAU would need in the 16th minute with an assist from Sammy Rowland that put the Owls up 1-0.
The Owls' second goal was scored by Taylor Townsend off a free kick in the 74th minute.
FAU had 10 shots while Southeast only had three in the game. Junior midfielder Kaitlin Kuznacic had all three Redhawks shots. She put one on goal late in the second half.
Sophomore goalkeeper Kindra Lierz made three saves. FAU's Sydney Drinkwater recorded the shutout in net.
Southeast (2-3-1) faces Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, at 5 p.m. today.
The Southeast volleyball team went 1-2 in the Arkansas Tournament in Fayetteville, Arkansas, this weekend.
The host Razorbacks beat the Redhawks 25-7, 25-16, 25-10 on Saturday morning. Krissa Gearring had a team-high eight kills to lead Southeast.
The Redhawks closed the tournament with a 25-21, 25-22, 23-25, 25-21 win over Northweastern on Saturday afternoon. Nzingha Clarke led Southeast with 11 kills.
Southeast lost 25-19, 25-21, 25-17 to UT Arlington to open the tournament on Friday night. Clarke and Krissa Gearring led the team with eight kills apiece.
The Redhawks travel to Carbondale, Illinois, on Tuesday to face regional rival Southern Illinois.
