Southeast Missouri State forward Breana Beine notched a hat trick in the first 33 minutes to lead the Redhawks soccer team to a 3-0 victory against Arkansas State on Friday night in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Beine scored in the seventh minute of the game on a pass from Jackson graduate Kasey Crowden.

The Redhawks went up 2-0 in the 22nd minute when Beine netted a corner kick from Natasha Minor.

Her final goal came 11 minutes later and was assisted by midfielder Torey Byrd.

It was the first career hat trick for the Evansville transfer and gives her the team lead with four goals on the season.

The Redhawks had a 17-11 shot advantage in the game. Freshman goalkeeper Kindra Lierz made two saves in the victory and recorded her third shutout of the season.

Southeast snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 3-3. The Redhawks open Ohio Valley Conference action on Friday at Eastern Illinois.

Tennis

The Southeast tennis team picked up three singles and a doubles victory against Austin Peay on the opening day of the Austin Peay Invitational Friday in Clarksville, Tennessee.

The Redhawks lost all eight of their matches against Middle Tennessee State.

Mariya Kostyuk topped Austin Peay's Ornella Di Salvo 7-5, 5-7, 10-8.

Annisa Warasanti defeated Jovana Karac in straight sets 7-6, 7-5.

Kateryna Stoianova topped Vanessa Tavares 6-2, 6-3. Stoianova and Melissa Martin picked up Southeast's only doubles victory of the day, defeating Karac and Hannah Tatlock 8-1.
