Southeast Missouri State men's basketball assistant Chris Moore and senior forward Joel Angus III are headed to Europe.

Southeast announced Thursday that the pair were invited by Global Sports Academy, a not-for-profit that has participated in domestic and international competition for more than 20 years, to compete on the tour, which will span Holland, Germany and Belgium.

"GSA's mission is to arrange athletic competition between equally matched teams at all levels and to 'Promote International Goodwill' and a better understanding between nations through sports," according to a press release.

Angus and Moore will be in Europe from Aug. 8-19.

Moore was selected to coach while Angus will be joined on his team by Illinois' Aaron Jordan, Washington-St. Louis' Charles Sanders, Virginia Military Institute's Quentin Peterson, Wisconsin-Green Bay's Turner Botz, West Virginia's Brandon Watkins, Marshall's Christian Thieneman, Rice's Andrew Drone, Portland's Jarrel Marshall and Xavier's Paul Macura.

The team is slated to play a game a day Aug. 10-15.

Track & Field

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association named the Southeast Missouri State women's track and field squad a 2016 All-Academic team.

Southeast track & field athletes Kevin Farley, Brannon Wright and Chante Mosby also secured All-Academic honors as individuals. Individual recipients must have a 3.25 GPA or higher and either finished the indoor season ranked in the top 96 nationally in an individual event or ranked in the top 48 nationally in a relay event or have competed in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships.

Teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 to be recognized by the USTFCCA, and the Southeast women's team posted a 3.32 GPA.

It was one of 220 teams to receive the award. Mosby was one of 910 women honored, and Farley and Wright joined a field of 568 men that were recipients.
