SEMO GOLF GRABS GROESBECK

Dan Groesbeck, a recent graduate of Cape Central High School, has signed to play golf at Southeast Missouri State University.

Groesbeck was a district champion and a state qualifier his junior year.

Groesbeck said he began playing golf at age 7, but didn't consider getting a scholarship until he was in high school.

"I practiced a lot after my sophomore year and I got to be pretty good," Groesbeck said. "Later on in my high school years, I wanted to make a college team, so I was excited when (Southeast coach Carroll Williams) came to talk to me.

"Practice is the main thing, but you've got to have fun. Golf can be aggravating."
