ARNOLD -- The college scouts came to watch 6-foot-3 Seckman guard Justin Tylka.
He didn't disappoint them.
Tylka, who entered Tuesday's game against visiting Jackson averaging 25 points a game, poured in 29 as Seckman outlasted the Indians 53-50.
Trailing by one, Jackson was called for a traveling violation with three seconds remaining. After a quick foul and Seckman's two free throws, Jackson's Doug Cary missed a contested 20-foot 3-point attempt at the horn.
Jackson slipped to 9-4.
Cary's 15 points and four three pointers paced Jackson.
Scott-Miss. Tournament
BENTON -- No. 4 seed Kelly, trailing Delta 41-40 entering the fourth quarter, outscored the Bobcats 24-12 in the final period for a 64-54 win in the tournament's first round. In another game Tuesday, Scott City dominated Chaffee 89-10.
Jamie Essner scored nine of his 19 points in the fourth quarter and Jason Glastetter added 13 for Kelly (8-5), which snapped a four-game slide. Ryan Livingston's 19 points led Delta.
In the other game, Scott City and Chaffee both played without two starters, and the results were ugly. Chaffee was held without a point in the second half and had only three field goals.
Jon Beck, Ronald Watson and Ryan Weatherspoon scored 29, 23 and 22 points, respectively
St. Vincent 88, Festus 61
PERRYVILLE -- Kyle Eggers scored 22 points and Gabe Hotop chipped in 19 as St. Vincent knocked off Festus in a Jefferson County Conference small schools division game.
St. Vincent (8-3, 2-1) jumped out to a 21-7 first-quarter edge as twelve Indians scored in the game.
Marquand 84, Zalma 62
MARQUAND -- Leading 43-37 entering the third quarter, Marquand scored 41 points in the final period and pulled away for a win over Zalma.
Dusty Stephens, a 6-3 forward, finished with a game-high 36 points and Steve Braswell added 15. Marquand moved to 7-5.
Gandy Wade and Ben Wallace each scored 21 points for Zalma.
Stoddard County Tournament
BLOOMFIELD -- In opening-round games, No. 6 Puxico upset No. 3 Bernie 70-62, and No. 2 Woodland edged No. 7 Bloomfield 58-56 in overtime.
Woodland's Dave Massa scored 33 points and hit five 3-pointers, but it was Ryan Bandermann's 10-footer off the glass at the overtime buzzer that sent the Cardinals to victory.
Bloomfield's Dustin Hicks matched Massa with 33 points.
Perryville 75, Herculaneum 48
PERRYVILLE -- Ryan Verseman piled up 30 points and Ryan Wishern added 19 as Perryville easily defeated Herculaneum.
Perryville, which held a 21-8 first-quarter lead, moved to 5-8.
Girls basketball
Scott City 83, Woodland 13
SCOTT CITY -- Scott City leaped out to a 27-6 first-quarter lead and sailed to a victory over Woodland.
Eleven Lady Rams scored and three found double figures. Becca Gowin scored a game-high 19 points, Alaina Smith had 17 and Lisa Sanders added 13.
Scott City (7-4) limited Woodland to just four field goals.

ST. LOUIS -- An off night for Cape Central resulted in the Tigers' loss to host Oakville.
Central fell to 4-2.
