Southeast Missouri State University's track and field teams won a pair of home dual meets Friday at the Student Recreation Center.

Southeast's men, behind two-time winner Shelton Scott, defeated Murray St. handily 83-25. The Otahkians won a tighter meet 53-45.

Scott led 1-2 finishes in both the long jump and triple jump. Overall, Southeast won 12 of the 13 events.

Southeast's Jay Heddel set a new Rec Center record with a throw of 56 feet, 11 inches in the shot put, surpassing the mark of Bryan Alfultis of 56.7.5. Jeremy Kirk also set a Rec Center record with a time of 8 minutes, 53.61 seconds in the 3,000-meter run.

On the women's side, Southeast won nine of the 12 events. Jennifer Leaman led the way by tying the Rec Center record in the pole vault, clearing 12-0. Leaman now shares the record with Michelle Legatt of Arkansas St.
