Olin Browne (66) and Charles Howell III (69) were tied for second, while Glen Day, who had a chance at a 59, and 1999 champion Rich Beem (67) were at 11-under 131.
Day was 10 under for his round when a weather delay stopped play for nearly 2 hours. He holed a lob wedge from 88 yards for an eagle at the par-5 6th and needed two birdies in his last three holes to match the all-time PGA Tour record. Day had a par-bogey-par finish for a 62.
