Calls to Heeb's cell phone have not been returned, and school superintedent Dr. Joel B. Holland is on vacation, the secretary said.

The Southeast Missourian is working on the story for Tuesday's editions.

Heeb came from Bell City, where he coached for five seasons and led the Cubs to two state championships in boys basketball, back to his alma mater prior to the start of the 2005-06 school year. But in the spring following his first season at Scott County Central, Heeb was slapped with a suspension by the Missouri State High School Activities Association for the second semester of the 2006-07 based on charges of undue influence (recruiting) filed by Bell City. Rather than coach any portion of the season, Heeb yielded control of the team to Ronnie Cookson, who had coached the program to 12 state championships in his 25 seasons from 1967 to 1992.

Scott County Central, for the second straight year, had its season ended by Bell City, which for the second straight year finished second in the state.
