Drew Thomas, Caleb Johnson and D.D. Gillespie combined for 66 points to lead the Braves in a 74-70 home win against Doniphan in the battle of state-ranked teams.

Scott County Central (19-4) entered the game as the No. 7 team in the state's Class 1 poll, while Doniphan (19-3) was No. 5 in Class 3.

Thomas scored 28 points, Johnson added 20 and Gillespie had 18. But it was freshman Bobby Hatchett who came up with a steal and a lay-in with 2 minutes to go to put Scott County Central ahead by five points in its upset win.
