Notre Dame took a 4-0 lead and held off a late-inning rally to win at home.

Poplar Bluff cut the lead to 5-4 in the top of the sixth, but the Bulldogs added an insurance run in the bottom of the inning. Notre Dame improved to 9-3, and 4-2 in SEMO Conference play.

Abe Dirnberger, Jordan Buchheit, Shane Menz, Jacob Wengert and Chad Friend had two hits apiece. Wengert had a home run.

Kirk Boeller fanned nine and allowed three earned runs in six innings for the win. Dylan Drury pitched a scoreless seventh for the save.

Meghan Orr scored twice to lead Central to a home win.

Orr's second goal, the game-winner, came with about three minutes left in regulation. Laura Lusk had an assist. Jackie Twidwell made about 10 saves in net, including several key saves in the opening half for the Tigers (6-3).

GOLF Poplar Bluff Invitational

Central and Jackson took third and fourth places, respectively, in the 13-team meet at Westwood Hills.

Central tallied 326 points, Jackson had 337 and Notre Dame placed ninth with 391 points.

Springfield Glendale won the event with a 306.

Blake Driskell led the Tigers with a 3-over 78, Tyler McDowell shot 79 for Jackson and Brandon Holzum shot a team-best 89 for Notre Dame, which had a player disqualified.

Potosi Tournament

St. Vincent placed second out of 14 teams at the Potosi Tournament at Fourche Valley.

The Indians finished with a 366, behind only Park Hills Central's 349.

The Indians' Corey Brueckner and Zach Richardet each shot 84 and tied for fourth individually. Jacob Sutterer added a 98, and David Rhoden rounded out St. Vincent's top four with a 100.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD Poplar Bluff 106, Notre Dame 55, Dexter 24

Mark Zimmer won three individual events and was part of a winning relay, as Notre Dame placed second in the three-team meet.

Zimmer won the 100-, 200- and 400-meter events and teamed with Jason Delgado, Blake Kirkpatrick and Matt Pfau on the first-place 1,600-relay squad.

The Bulldogs' foursome of John Unterreiner, Delgado, Neil Kanneberg and Pfau won the 3,200 relay.
