Scott City's volleyball team squeezed out a pair of three-set victories Wednesday night to win the SEMO Conference Tournament at Central High School.
The Rams (6-0)beat Sikeston in the semifinals 25-23, 19-25, 15-11 and then slipped past Oran in the finals 25-15, 19-25, 25-23.
Kacie Cartwright had 17 kills and 18 digs in the two matches, while Ashton Phillips recorded 20 digs and eight kills.
Also contributing: Jenny Glency (13 digs, five kills, four blocks), Jessica Warren (11 digs, four aces), Abbie Cook (9 digs, three blocks) and Lindsey Amick (30 assists, three aces).
Oran (3-3) advanced to the final by beating Central 25-13, 25-18 in the semifinals. The Eagles were led in the two matches by Carmen Duncan (14 kills, five aces) and Courtney Nenninger (37 digs, seven kills, seven blocks).
Bell City 25-25 Advance 22-22
Bell City improved to 4-1 with a road victory.
Emily Burch had nine kills, nine digs and three aces to lead the Cubs. Katie Niemczyk added 13 digs and six kills, while Megan Slagley contributed 13 digs and three kills.
Angela Broshuis led Advance (1-2) with nine kills. Kacie Ritter had eight assists and Leslie Rainey added five digs.
JV --Bell City won 25-19, 25-21.
SOFTBALL ND 23, St. Vincent 3
Notre Dame exploded late to post a 20-run road victory.
The Bulldogs (8-0) led 12-3 entering the top of the seventh and then scored 11 times.
Notre Dame had 19 hits, led by Miranda Schlosser with four and Whitney Ostendorf with three. Cortney Ostendorf and Bailey Reutzel each added two hits. Eden Ellison homered, and Kristain Burger pitched a four-hitter.
