The Scott City High School volleyball team continued its solid season Tuesday night as the Lady Rams knocked off host Cape Girardeau Central 15-4, 15-13.

Scott City improved to 14-10-1 while Central fell to 2-18-1.

Sidney Baer had five kills to lead the Lady Rams. Amanda O'Brien added three kills and Megan Ressel recorded 16 service points.

Central's JV prevailed 14-16, 15-11, 15-6.

NOTRE DAME 15-15

NEW MADRID 1-4

NEW MADRID -- Notre Dame is now 23-7-1 after routing New Madrid County Central.

Jennifer VanGennip and Deana McCormick each had four kills for the Lady Bulldogs, who got six service points from Erin Pfau and 11 assists from Summer McCauley, who returned to action following an injury.

Notre Dame won the JV match 15-11, 15-7

The Lady Bulldogs will have Senior Night Thursday as they close out the regular season with a match against tough Leopold.

MEADOW HEIGHTS 15-15

MARQUAND 5-4

MARQUAND, Mo. -- Ashley Brune provided seven kills and five digs as Meadow Heights improved to 24-4.

Hanna James followed with four kills and four digs and Jami Fulton had 10 assists.

BELL CITY 15-15

BLOOMFIELD 10-7

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Katie Spears powered home 21 kills and added seven digs as Bell City closed in on the 20-victory mark.

The Lady Cubs (19-5-1) also got seven kills and 11 digs from Katie Niemczyk. Whitney Abner recorded 29 assists, Emily Burch had eight digs and 10 service points and Erin Dissler added three blocks.

Bell City's JV did win its 20th match against just three losses with a 15-4, 15-11 triumph.

ST. VINCENT 15-15

PERRYVILLE 9-6

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- The Squaws turned in a victory over their cross-town rivals in a game played at St. Vincent.

St. Vincent (10-17-1) got three kills and 14 digs from Beth Hennemann, while Dani Emmendorfer had two kills, seven assists and five digs. Chelsey Brown added seven digs, followed by Megan Moll with six.

Perryville fell to 9-14-1.

Perryville won the JV match 15-8, 15-7.

LEOPOLD 15-15

PUXICO 2-7

LEOPOLD, Mo. -- The Lady Wildcats had little trouble collecting their seventh straight victory.

Holly Jansen had three kills and eight digs for Leopold (21-3-1) while Kyla Horrell and Courtney Wesbecher had two kills apiece. Horrell finished with five service aces and Wesbecher had nine digs.

Puxico won the JV match 2-15, 15-9, 15-13.

ORAN 15-15

CHARLESTON 8-10

ORAN, Mo. --The Lady Eagles improved to 18-8-1 as Maria Eftink led the way with 10 kills, three digs, six service points and five aces.

Jessica Prino paced Oran with 11 service points, followed by Tara Griffin with seven. Candice Duncan posted eight assists.

ADVANCE 15-15

OAK RIDGE 10-11

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Advance knocked off Oak Ridge in two games.

The Lady Hornets (10-15-1) got 10 kills and three blocks from Dana Williams. Alicia Broshuis had six digs and two aces. Leslie Rainey added nine assists and two aces while Shelby Becker had two aces.

Advance won the JV match 15-8, 8-15, 15-12.

ZALMA 15-10-16

WOODLAND 10-15-14

ZALMA, Mo -- Woodland lost a heartbreaker to Zalma.

The Lady Cardinals (7-18) were led by Emily Davis' eight kills. Kelly Reed had four kills and three aces while Jeni Jackson provided eight points, five assists and three digs. Stacie Greer recorded six service points.

CAPE CENTRAL-

JACKSON JV TOURNAMENT

Cape Central and Notre Dame advanced to the championship game with semifinal victories at Shawnee Soccer Park.

Cape Central blanked Sikeston 3-0 while Notre Dame disposed of Carbondale 4-3. The teams will meet for the title at 4 p.m. Thursday at Shawnee.

Matt Hellrich, Trey Willis and Luke Kester netted goals for Central (8-4-2). Dean Richardson assisted on two of the goals and Hellrich assisted on the third.

Lee Hodges recorded the shutout in goal.

In Notre Dame's victory, Elliott Vance, Wade Cramer, David Kimblinger and Blake Urhahn scored for the Bulldogs (9-3-4). Jonathan Market and Bryce Willen each finished with two assists.

In Tuesday's consolation action, Jackson defeated Poplar Bluff 4-2 and Farmington topped Kennett 7-1.

Today's schedule: fifth place -- Jackson vs. Farmington, 4 p.m.; seventh place -- Poplar Bluff vs. Kennett, 4 p.m. Thursday's schedule: championship -- Notre Dame vs. Cape Central, 4 p.m.; third place -- Carbondale vs. Sikeston, 4 p.m.

Martez Bell scored a touchdown and Colin Schermann kicked two field goals, but the Tigers fell short in a game played Monday night.

Mark Dunaway, Phil Brookins and Schermann all intercepted passes.
