~ Top-seeded Chaffee and Crystal City will resume their suspended gamethis afternoon.

Shae Simmons went 2-for-4 with a triple and struck out eight batters in 4 1/3 innings of pitching to lead Scott City past Charleston 14-3 in the semifinal round of the Class 2 District 2 at Charleston.

The game was stopped after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

While Scott City cruised into the district final, its opponent won't be determined until later today. The other semifinal, between top-seeded Chaffee and Crystal City, was suspended due to the weather.

For Scott City, Jaris Hye belted a two run home run and added four RBIs, and Cody Carlyle was 3-for-3 with two doubles and a triple to help the Rams(15-6).

Cody Page added a double and Ryan Modglin and Blake Dirnberger each had a triple.

The game between Chaffe and Crystal City will be picked up in the bottom of the fourth inning with a score of 3-3. The game is scheduled to resume at 1 p.m.

Caleb Seyer and Kody Campbell each hit a home run, as Oran rolled over Advance and into the district finals.

Steven Dooley pitched four innings, striking out eight batters and only allowing two hits.

Dooley, Alex Chasteen and Cody Dirnberger each added doubles for the Eagles (22-4). Chase Seyer went 3-for-4 and Alex Chasteen went 2-for-3.

David VanGennip had a double for Advance.

Class 1 District 3

The semifinal game between second-seeded Saxony Lutheran and Valley of Caledonia game was rained out and has been rescheduled for today at 6:30 p.m.

The championship game for the tournament, being hosted by Valle Catholic of Ste. Geneveive. is set for 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Class 4 District 1

The Jackson and Central semifinal baseball games were rained out at Hillsboro.

Girls SoccerClass 2 District 1

The district soccer games that were set to take place at Jackson were rained out.

They are rescheduled for today with top-seeded Jackson playing Poplar Bluff at 5 p.m. and Seckman facing third-seeded Central at 6:45 p.m.
