Behind 18 points apiece from Jeremy Schlosser and Mark Dannenmueller, Scott City cruised to an 85-45 Scott Mississippi Conference victory over Delta before a home crowd on Tuesday.
A total of nine players figured into the scoring for the Rams' balanced attack.
Scott City looked to push the ball up the court and score points in transition. Delta, which only played six players, was unable to handle the Rams up-tempo, fast-paced style.
"We came out with offensive and defensive intensity," Scott City coach Lance Amick said. "We got after it out there tonight. It was a total team effort. Everybody contributed to the win."
Scott City jumped out to a quick 12-0 lead with the help of strong defensive pressure. The Rams' 6-foot-9 center Tyler Ward proved to be an intimidating force inside, altering several Delta shots.
"We've been practicing better lately and it showed out there tonight," Scott City senior guard Ryan Glastetter said. "We had the momentum the whole game."
Delta (5-5) scored its first basket with 3:52 left in the first quarter, but the Bobcats continued to struggle on offense. A 3-pointer by Delta's Brent Menz cut the lead to 15-7, the closest the Bobcats would get the remainder of the game.
"We didn't execute very good at all --both offensively and defensively," said Bobcats coach Shawn Kinder. "Scott City pressured the ball well on defense, denying the pass to the wing. We just didn't come to play."
Scott City (10-3) scored 25 points in both of the first two quarters on its way to a 50-27 halftime lead.
Tyler Ward provided a highlight for the Rams in the third quarter when he slammed home a pass from Schlosser, sending the Scott City faithful crazy.
Midway through the third quarter, Amick pulled the starters out and let his reserves see significant playing time.
Zack Kelley, the Bobcats' leading scorer this season, played despite having a stress fracture in his left leg. Playing mainly in the paint, he was the high man for Delta, scoring 19. Delta played without sophomore guard Aaron Kinder, who is out with a broken arm.
