BENTON -- Scott City and Oran -- the top two seeds -- will square off tonight in the championship game of the Scott-Mississippi County Conference Tournament.
No. 1 Scott City held off host and No. 4 Kelly 68-58 in one semifinal Thursday night while No. 2 Oran had an impressive performance during a 79-57 romp past No. 3 Scott County Central in the other semifinal.
Scott City and Oran will play at 8 tonight for the title, following the JV championship game between Kelly and Scott County Central at 6:30.
Scott City (14-2) was led by Jon Beck with 23 points and Ronald Watson with 17. Ryan Weatherspoon added 14.
Kelly (8-6) got 21 points from Jason Glastetter, 11 from Aaron Johnson and 10 from Russ Mothershead.
The Rams opened up a 15-point second-half lead before the Hawks pulled to within three late, but Scott City was able to pull away down the stretch.
Oran (10-4) was paced by Travis Friga with 26 points. Also in double figures were Chris Nichols with 12, Daniel Wheeler with 11 and Billy Loper with 10.
Scott Central (11-4) got 18 points from John Fort and 15 from Jreece Johnson.
The Eagles raced to a 31-25 halftime lead and steadily pulled away in the second half.
Stoddard Tournament
BLOOMFIELD -- In semifinal play, top-seeded Dexter held off a strong challenge from No. 4 Advance while sixth-seeded Puxico continued its impressive tourney run with a mauling of No. 2 Woodland.
Dexter prevailed 64-56 while Puxico romped 75-45 as those squads set up a championship matchup at 8:30 tonight. Advance and Woodland will play for third place at 5:30. The JV final will be at 7 with the JV third-place game at 4.
Dexter, which has lost just one game all season, was led by Scott Mattingly with 20 point. Advance got a game-high 29 from Garrett Broshuis while Seth Cantrell added 10.
Puxico led 37-17 at halftime and never looked back. Ryan Harmon scored 25 points while Mike Owen added 18. Woodland got 17 from David Massa, 11 from Ryan Bandermann and 10 from Paul Long.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Notre Dame 71, Twin Rivers 60
BROSELEY -- Senior guard Randi Senciboy scored 21 points in Notre Dame's road victory over Twin Rivers.
Jill Huber had 12 points and Erin Vickery added 10 as the Lady Bulldogs evened their mark to 8-8.
Notre Dame trailed 27-26 at halftime, but a 24-11 edge in the third period pushed the Lady Bulldogs ahead for good.
"I thought we played pretty well," Notre Dame coach Jerry Grim said. "We played good defense at times and we cut down on turnovers a little bit."
Jackson 68, Kelly 31
JACKSON - The Lady Indians continued to cruise with an easy victory, improving their season mark to 9-1.
Andrea Koeper scored 21 points and Melissa Palmer added 15 points. Marissa Essner, 11 points, was the only Kelly player to finish in double figures.
Jackson jumped out to a 10-point lead in the first quarter and opened up a 25-point advantage by halftime as the Lady Indians led 40-15.
"We dominated game from the start being bigger, more mature and having more experience," said Jackson coach Ron Cook.
Delta 34, Oran 22
DELTA -- Only six players -- three from each team -- scored in Delta's slow-going victory over Oran.
Leading 18-14 at halftime, Delta's 11-4 third-quarter bulge pushed it ahead. The Lady Bobcats improved to 5-7.
Amanda Cook paced Delta with 17 points and Kristin Fish contributed 14. Sara Heisserer scored nine points for Oran.
Perryville 72, De Soto 59
DE SOTO -- Perryville remained undefeated in Jefferson County Conference Large Division action.
The Lady Pirates (7-6 overall, 3-0 conference) got 21 points from Tiffany Perkins, 16 from Amy Verseman and 10 from Shannon Dreyer.
Windsor 57, St. Vincent 39
IMPERIAL -- Windsor held St. Vincent to one point in the first quarter and went on to beat the Squaws.
Daniel Sutterer led St. Vincent with 14 points.

SIKESTON -- Lance Schlick, Jackson's 135-pound senior, improved his mark to 22-0 with his pin of Sikeston's Joe Knuckles as Jackson cruised to a win over the Bulldogs.
Jackson is now 5-0.

Poplar Bluff wins tourney
Poplar Bluff defeated Jackson 50-40 in the championship of the Cape Central 8th-grade Invitational. Jackson was led by Matt McComas' 12 points, and Matt Neal added 10.
In the third-place game, Sikeston nipped Central 25-24. Willie Colon scored eight points for the Cubs (3-7).
